From Rich to Richer (The Ice Cream Princess Edition)
So I was…I mean my girlfriend was watching My Super Sweet Sixteen and there was this skater chick on there. I was thinking to myself, “self…doesn’t that chick look familiar?!?” And then I realized that I peeped her on another site¹ as the newest addition to the Star Trak family. And now I’m seeing her on this show. So that means that she was already rich before she was even signed to a label.
Are you frickin serious…people are going from rich to richer. How can you rap, sing, spoken word about anything remotely street when you yourself were born with silver spoon with diamonds in it? Or if you weren’t necessarily were born rich…but grew up rich (ie. Bow Wow) then what’s the point of even trying to keep a hood image? My Super Sweet Sixteen is no place to try to promote a hood image…
Maybe I’m making harsh and quick judgments on this young lady because I haven’t checked out a lot of her stuff (she only has 2 songs on her myspace page²) but still, its ridiculous.
Yeah you might say I’m hating…maybe I am…actually I probably am…(but you know you are too…)

She’s not really rich. Most of that Super Sweet 16 was fake from the car she got as a “gift” to the actual party thrown for her which, to my understanding, her label Star Trak paid for as a promotional exercise.

Oh…well I guess I stand corrected. I figured most of Super Sweet 16 is fake…well most of MTV and reality TV for that matter. But still I didn’t think having one of your new up and coming artist looking like a brat on TV is a good look for Star Trak.
I’m not a fan of showcasing our artists, no matter how “ghetto fab”, “negrocentric”, or “blinged out”, in a negative light. Its entirely to stereotypical and easy for people to get a wrong idea of a group of people whether it be race, creed, or in this case musical label…

i Agree with korie….it might seems like im hating too but i did find that girl ridiculous….im a big fan of pharrell but i really dont see what he finds in her that he couldn’t find in somebody else…by the way her mom is rich so by signing to startrak she is getting richer…and korie im so glad somebody feels the same way i do.

Her family is not rich they worked hard to get where they are at. Teyana worked harder then most to get her deal after school she would run to the studio and hand out flyers to get a band. She’s not as cocky about her record deal excited but who wouldn’t be. So StarTreck might have paid for her supersweet sixteen but lets face she worked to get there. Plus she did not act as spoiled as the rest of the girls on that show and her entrance and performance was better then all the girls in this season and past seasons.

Her mom did a little bit of modeling. She not rich she still lives in harlem. Her manager is related to Kenny lattimoore but he is not paying for any of that he still works to put food a blue collar job to keep his family afloat. If you watch BET and look for the chicken noodle soup dance on 106 & park She was one of the performers thats how she got discovered.

OK. so.. you kids need to chill. the woman has a g*d-damned point. If you’re rich, it’s not particularly..right to try to have a “hood” image. Yeah it’s fun, and very individual like, but honestly? how many ‘hood’ people have the choice of to even HAVE a sweet sixteen. (NOT STEREO-TYPING ANYONE WHAT-SO-EVER). Also, of course skater girls are cool, i could be one too, but i personally am not into it. It’s the fact that this particular girl is acting as if she has no money to pay.. yet is having a ginormous sweet sixteen. Maybe it’s just we al wish we we’re her in some sort of way? and I have a certain feeling we all do.

if u take a look at her myspace page u will c that the money or rich as yall say didnt come into play until she signed with star trek. she is not tryning to be hood, out of the majority of the sweet 16 episodes she was the realist and didnt act a fool and cuss out her mom or dad wen things didnt go her way. she is a dope azz chick that got her head on strait and will know what she will b doin b4 and after HIGH SKOOL graduation. most of those the same age Cant say tha same!!!

I love Teyanna on the Super Sweet sixteen her creative side was amazing, very original better than the rest of em, I mean she had vision and great ideas and imagine. Unlike Easy-E daugther her show was a hot ghetto mess, and C-Lo daughter yuck!! Teyanna idea came togethe and brought something unique and different to the show it was simply amazing it you act me

I think TT has a very unique style that sets apart, although her “google me” video borrowed from Aaliyah’s dance moves and was very Missy Elliot-ish. I too wonder who her parents were because I thought she was rich after I saw the Sweet 16 party. Easy-E daughter was definitely hating on TT. She had her nose turned up to her, so I am glad TT made it. On another note, people need to stop calling that girl gay. She is just different and she is not prissy.
