Post Easter 2007
So yesterday was the day that all pastel colors wait for all year…Easter. Yes a day filler with colorful Easter Eggs, pastel colors, and bunny rabbits. But what does pale violet, medium orchid, turquoise, chartreuse,¹ and the cadbury bunny have to do with the resurrection of Jesus?!?
I bet no one else can answer that question either. People just go year in and year out celebrating and recognizing a figure that most people have no idea where the origin lies. I bet most after reading the previous lines will either surf on over to wikipedia to try and hind an answer. Let me save you some trouble here’s a link². Yeah I wikipedia’ed it and it still didn’t make sense.
I have no problem with the religious aspect of Easter, I think that’s the point much like its the point of Christmas, but I just don’t understand the bunny aspect of Easter. Maybe Hallmark blew it up to make more money…
Speaking of Hallmark. They are truly slipping on cards. This past weekend I celebrated 2 of my friends’ birthdays. I tried to go to Hallmark to pick them up a card (because I’m really working hard to attach a card to presents). I looked around Hallmark for over half hour and didn’t see diddly. All the cards I read were wack. Hallmark had beautiful cards for Valentine’s Day, Veteran’s Day, St.Patrick’s Day, Earth Day, Canada Day, Cinco de Mayo. Hallmark even had nice cards for your loved ones, or Pastor, or Lawyer who got you 37 million in damages from spilling a hot caramel frappachino in your lap. but when it came to finding a birthday card for a good friend, wasn’t jack in the place! Word to Hallmark: Step yo game up because Target is coming for you!!! On a side note Happy Belated Birthday Shout Outs go to Stephen³ and Rebbecca4!!!
