You may or may not know that Lupe Fiasco’s newest album “Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool” has received the pirate treatment and gotten been leaked online. It was leaked last week…therefore I got the album last week and then I was faced with an a dilemma…do I post the album or do I keep it to myself?

Why the dilemma you ask? Well its for this reason: I try to be the Robin Hood of Music. Taking from the rich (music labels) and giving to the poor (not necessarily poor, but for those like me who don’t want to pay for music). But Lupe Fiasco is different because he actually says something positive in his music. And he’s not in the same light as Common or Mos Def, but he has his swagger, but quite different than the swag exhibited by Kanye. Lupe speaks about life and the struggles we have as people, as a society, as a culture. But he speaks so calmly and intelligently about it, you can’t help but be entranced by it.

So why wouldn’t I post the download? Because Lupe is saying something real and I want people to support something. I’m not feeding the nonsense…I’m going to starve all of it. But Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool is something that should be feasted upon. So tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec 18th) get your forks go down to your local store where albums can be purchased and feed your mind with The Cool.
