Don’t worry if you missed the game last night … you only missed the biggest blowout in NBA Finals history. It was a very sad thing to say. The last 5 minutes of the game were extremely depressing because we all know who was going to win when the Celtics had like a 40 point lead. It was soo sad. I really didn’t want to watch it after half time. But I had to watch Celtics reclaim their throne at the top of the NBA.

But Now that the finals are over…what am I supposed to watch on TV….certainly not baseball (that sport just isn’t the same unless you’re actually at the stadium).

So what’s on the plate today at FortyOneAcres? A whole bunch of links to random awesomeness.

And if you’ve been keeping up with my twitter feed (it’s that handy little sidebar to the right of this…) you will know that I have a brand spankin new idea for my site. Maybe I’ll let you in on what my idea is…we’ll see. But until then here’s KG’s interview after his team finally won the NBA Finals. (this is by far the worst interview I’ve seen after a game…)

Michelle Obama is going to be a guest host of ABC’s The View, which I think is pretty cool. Meaning I think Michelle guest hosting is rather cool and not the show itself. As a hetrosexual male, I can’t say that I’ve actually watched The View (I’m more of a Regis and Kelly kinda guy). But anyways, according to a press release the View tried to have Michelle Obama on as a guest but she refused stating she wanted to do a guest hosting bit like Cindy McCain did. And I guess if John McCain can use Barack Obama’s keyword of “Change” then Michelle can use Cindy’s idea to host. (Just a word of warning I actually have no idea if it was actually Cindy’s idea to host but I’ll give her credit until proven otherwise)

This opportunity will give the viewing female audience (and I’m sure a few men) a chance to get to know Michelle Obama, which can be a good thing for her husband. Hopefully if women get to know, and then like Michelle then will subsequently like Barack.

Good luck with your tea party/women chatty thing, Michelle, unfortunately I won’t be watching…but my fiancee might.

The date that she will officially announce that she is set for Saturday, June 7th. Let’s she has anymore ploys for trying to stay in the race. But I’m hoping for the sake of not only the Democratic Party and America, that Clinton bows out gracefully for all the people who supported her, especially the women. Some women never thought they would never see a woman have a serious bid for the White House and I know how incredibily proud they must be of her and all of her accomplishments. Even though I don’t particullary like her I won’t deny the history that she’s made. So please, Hillary Rodham Clinton have a gracious bow out of the Presidential process and let the stage be set for Barack Obama to finally take center stage.

But when the majority of Americans and super delegates support a certain nominee (Barack Obama) then you need to realize that Hillary Clinton. It is your motives that are driving the party apart. You’ve built yourself up as a fighter so much that you don’t even know when to quit. The way you mentioned “18 million voters” that you don’t want to become invisible is a sure fire way to further divide an already divided party.

If you weren’t following me on Twitter or Facebook then you may not have known that on Saturday (May 17th) that I finally graduated. Its been a long time coming and I was (and still am) excited.

But like all graduates I’ve been asked, “what are you going to do now?”

I graduated college with a BS in History. But now I’m facing the fork in the road and wondering what path I’m going to take. Do I want to head straight into a Master’s program? Do I want to explore the world? Do I want to work for a few years and pay down some debt? What am I going to do now…

I was talking to a friend the other day, and she asked me the same question, “What are you going to do now?” I thought for a moment, but when I step back I know what I want to do. I want to become a full time history teacher. I want my own classroom. I want to educate the youth and help get America’s education back on track.

Problem: If I’m only one teacher…in one classroom…in one school…in one county…in one state…how am I going to help get America’s Educational system back on track?

Answer: Politics. I’ve always been fascinated with the political landscape of the United States. Its so diverse and interesting. It drives this country…and gives comedians something to talk about. My friend did state that I have a gift of bullshitting like a true politician. I’m sure she was really only implying that I had the gift of gab. Well at least that’s how I’m taking it.

But I’m not going into politics immediately. I’m going to work in the school system first. I want a better grasp of what I want to change before I change it. I’ll probably teach and work on my Master’s at the same time.

Because that must be the only reason for the Republican Party to be attacking her like they are. The story is actually starting to get a lot of press. So much press that Obama had made this comment:

“The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family.”[1]

Michelle Obama is not running for office. Yes she is married to someone who is running but that doesn’t make her guilty by association. Asking her political questions is along the same lines as asking the significant other of a CEO of a major corporation about the goals and financial standings of the company. When Bill Gates was actively running Microsoft, I didn’t see anyone asking Melinda about she strongly felt that Microsoft can take the digital music scene away from Apple’s iPod.

I mean I might have missed it…but I really doubt that they asked her. Some people might consider that an unequal comparison. However its not. People want to know the inner thoughts and emotions of the wife of the person who may become the leader of the strongest country in the world. I can understand that. But at the same time…Microsoft is one of the biggest companies with market share all across the world. Microsoft isn’t in the private sector when it collects information and data from the public…the global public. Microsoft has a database of likes, dislikes, internet habits, shopping patterns, sercurity information, and locations of people who use their software all over the world. Microsoft has its own channel. Yet we know very little about Melinda Gates.

Sounds a little awkward doesn’t it?

Attacking the <strike>wife</strike> significant other of a Presidential canaidate is underhanded. Especially when said significant other has no involvement in politics except for voting and being married to someone who is involved in politics. My fiancee is a branch manager of a nationwide car rental agency…when people ask me questions about renting cars I direct them to her becasue I have very little knowledge of how the buisness works. True I may know a little bit more of how the office works, only becasue I’m around her and her co-workers, but that by no means makes me an expert. Can we expect anymore from the significant others of those who hold public office?

I love the Democratic party today…the liberal ideals, trying to provide for the masses of people, and having two (2) strong candidates running for President of the United States. But there also lies the problem, our Presidential Candidates are so strong that instead of showcasing themselves against the Republican Candidate, John McCain they are left bickering amongst themselves. We have Hillary Clinton who is using slash and burn techniques to attack Barack Obama. And then there is Obama who is trying to show himself as one of common background and intelligence running a positive campaign. But there are 2 problems with Obama’s strategy: 1: even though Obama is of common background (primarily single parent home) he is not of common intelligence and he should not have to try to dumb down that fact. Obama is a very intelligent man, and we as Americans should feel proud that someone of his background can rise to that (really does make me believe in the American dream). Problem number 2 is that its hard to keep on course with a positive campaign when you are being attack from the former front runner from your own party as well as the presumed Presidential Candidate from the opposing party as well.

But Obama is doing a good job and has to keep up with his positivity or his whole campaign strategy of Hope and Change in Washington will mean nothing…

Back to the topic: the Democratic Party needs to decide on a Presidential Candidate for not only the good of the party but the good of America. The longer the 2 Democrats stay fighting each other the harder will be to galvanize the party against McCain come November.

I was talking to a friend a few days ago about the Pennsylvania primary and why I can’t support Hillary Clinton. Here’s what I told him: I can’t support Clinton because I don’t feel she’s running for President to better the United States. I feel that she’s running to become the first woman President. That’s why she’s using Slash and Burn techniques to make herself look better.

So here’s my recommendation to the candidates: stay focused on the issues…stop going blow to blow against each other. Strike against McCain and show yourself as a true President. Act like it now!!! If you really want to show your commitment to helping our nation then speak about the issues…because that’s what we Americans really want to hear.
